LEAVENWORTH RECYCLING CENTER
In partnership with the City of Leavenworth, Waste Loop manages the small Leavenworth Recycling Center located at 216 14th Street, across from the Community Cupboard.
Hours of Operation:
Wednesday 4:30PM - 6:30PM and Saturday 11:00AM - 3:00PM
Since 2019, Waste Loop has been working hard to find solutions for the community to divert materials out of the landfill.
Accepted Materials:
1. Single Stream Recycling through Waste Management (mixed paper, aluminum & tin cans, and plastic bottles). Click HERE for more information on what is accepted. Make sure all recyclables are clean, dry, and empty!
2. Cardboard (flattened, corrugated) - recycled locally at Michelson's Packaging Company.
3. Yard Waste is accepted from the City of Leavenworth residents only (be prepared to show proof of city residence ie. ID or mail).
Yard waste may include leaves, pine needles, and limbs cut into 4-foot or shorter lengths. Recyclable paper lawn & garden bags are also accepted. NO dirt, rocks, sod, or building debris.
The City of Leavenworth provides yard waste pick-up services to city residents twice a year (Spring and Fall).
Yard Waste is composted locally at Winton Mfg. If the Leavenworth Recycling Center Yard Waste Bin is full or you are looking to dispose of yard waste on days the center is not open, you can self-haul to Winton ($68 per ton with a $15 minimum fee for loads under 400 pounds).
Glass Hauling is Back!!
Glass recycling is back in Leavenworth! Thanks to Sibelco’s recent purchase of Strategic Materials in Seattle, new end markets have opened up, making it possible for local haulers to bring in glass once again. Residents can now drop off clean food and beverage glass during Recycling Center hours. Please note: only clean glass bottles and jars are accepted—no window glass, Pyrex, or heat-treated glass.
To help offset the cost of hauling glass to Seattle and keep this service sustainable, we kindly request a donation of $5 per box of glass from individuals and businesses. Thank you for helping keep glass out of the landfill and supporting local recycling efforts!
