In partnership with the City of Leavenworth, Waste Loop manages the small Leavenworth Recycling Center located at 216 14th street, across from the Community Cupboard.
Hours of Operation: Wednesday 4:30pm - 6:30pm and Saturday 11am-3pm
Waste Management stopped accepting glass in their single-stream recycling in the winter of 2019. Since then, Waste Loop has been working hard to find solutions for the community to divert glass out of the landfill.
1. Single Stream Recycling through Waste Management (mixed paper, aluminum & tin cans and plastic bottles). Click HERE for more information on what is accepted. Make sure all recyclables are clean, dry and empty!
2. Cardboard (flattened, corrugated)
3. Glass (free of plastic labels, plastic rings and foil)
4. Yard Waste is accepted from City of Leavenworth residents only (be prepared to show proof of city residence ie. ID or mail).
With support from the Icicle Fund River Grant and community donations, Waste Loop has set up glass hauling to Strategic Materials in Seattle. Glass is currently accepted during all hours of operation at the Leavenworth Recycling Center (Wednesday 4:30pm-6:30pm & Saturday 11am-3pm).
Glass drop-off guidelines: No food debris or liquid, no caps or corks. Glass can have labels on it.
The program of glass collection and hauling has been made possible by generous donations within the community. A big shout out to recent sponsors, Huney Jun Kombucha & Leavenworth Recycles! It will take ongoing support from the community to keep this service going so please consider donating to Waste Loop today!
